I might write to them and find out. Of course my calligraphy is not terrific, but I am curious anyway. Welcome aboard the wonderful roller coaster that is the Scribal Arts. ;-)

You're definitely in the right place to learn about both calligraphy and illumination., so don't be afraid to ask questions.

You've caught the list at a fairly quiet time, because many of our members are away at Pennsic War for the week.

You might want to check out a few websites that have good beginning introductions to the scribal arts. Following is a list of some sites that I have bookmarked, I hope you find them helpful.

Just post your questions about scribey stuff here, that is what it is for, and we will do our best to help you in your scribal career. Thanks for letting us know the group you are in out there. I have been trying to find out what SCA groups are in that area since there is a slim chance I will be moving that way in a year or two. Nothing definate yet about moving, but I was just curious about the groups and what kingdom it was. So thanks for that bit of information. Again, welcome! My ability to read all lists is currently extremely curtailed, and I'm swamped for the time-being trying to recover from losing easy access to both work and play computing, with the emphasis on work, obviously. My compter's off to the shop tomorrow and I'll be in Toronto next week on a business trip. I should be back up and running sometime in late August. If anyone needs to get my attention in the meanwhile, please email me direct at work: helmcath@isu.edu.
