What would the receiver want? Now I would like to offer you an alternative...my script. It is real arabic written correctly, but creates the illusion of english so people who can not read arabic can read english instead. It does say stuff in arabic, but it is all nonsense. It is availible at http://geocities.com/mahee_of_acre/ your servant, mahee - --- Floriligeum@aol.com wrote: > Greetings, > > As I am homing in on a design for this Middle Eastern scroll I am > still > trying to decide weather to find someone to write out the text in > Arabic or > if I should just use a pseudo Arabic hand. > > Without wanting to start a fire storm of opinions what is the general > feeling > of one versus the other? > > Yours in service, > > Sarra the Lymner > > Caer Adamant (DE), East Kingdom > MKA Sarah Dressler > Sarra's > Florilegium > www.sarrasflorilegium.knownworldweb.com > > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? It would be preferable to get a translation done, the SCA translations site http://translate.thibault.org has a couple of people who are happy to translate into Arabic. Pseudo scripts are an abomination, and given this resource, unnecessary. Good luck! If you've had good luck or are involved with this project, then I am sorry and I'm not yelling at anyone just passing on my experiences. Greetings, Since, I can't go to Pennsic this year I was going to get someone else to do my shopping for me. Does anyone know of any good deals on parchment or burnishers that are supposed to be at Pennsic? If so, please let me know so I can pass the info on to the kind person who is shopping for me... Cheers, Gwendoline =================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list, send email to with a blank Subject: line and unsubscribe scribes in the body of the message. Time to quit for the night, I would say. Graidhne ni Ruaidh P.S. The gold leaf (raised gilding) looks the best it ever has for me! So far, I'm very happy with this piece! =================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list, send email to with a blank Subject: line and unsubscribe scribes in the body of the message.
