Lost the parchmentine Addresses My CD ROM drive died last week, and I ended up having to re-install my system. Having carefully saved my mailboxes, I then brilliantly installed a vanilla version of Eudora on top of the saved one... What this means is that I've lost about a week's mail, including all the addresses for the Parchmentine samples. So please re-send me your addresses and queries, and this time it all really will happen. - --Yseult Chris Robertson Yseult de Lacy Wentworth Falls Barony of Rowany NSW Australia Lochac =================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list, send email to with a blank Subject: line and unsubscribe scribes in the body of the message. Apparently the latest copy is out of print, but it looks like my mom found a copy listed online at about $13 after shipping. It's the Meehan copy, avail. through Books A Million... The scroll, in the meantime, is coming along fine -- when I'm done with the knotwork border, I plan on taking it to Kinko's to make a preprint out of it. If anyone's interested in copies, let me know... I'll see if I can publish a detail on my webpage of the preprint. I figure using the border as a preprint would save myself and a lot of people a lot of time, considering penciling in each block in this is taking me about 40-60 minutes each (total 30 blocks of knotwork). It sounds excessive for any scroll (this is an AoA), but it's still something I enjoy. Plus it's a 3 year backlog, so I figure this person deserves the extra effort. I'm not driving myself nuts to get it done by a certain time, and want to make sure the work is quality. :) Anyhow... As soon as the preprint becomes available, I will let everyone know. I've been in the society for 10 years, but am new to the scribal arts. I've found that the longer I play in the Society, the more activities I want to try, and now's the time to start calligraphy. My first interest is calligraphy - I started in earnest about 2 months ago. I've begun now in part because of the enthusiasm of our local signet, and in part because as a court herald, I now get to see the wonderful works in the royalty room, and when they are handed out. I wanted to contribute similarly, for the pleasure of the royals, to give out beautiful scrolls, and to the recipients, whose faces I get to see (the perks of facing the populace!).
