Pennsic project [scribes]: copy - TWELFETH NIGHT SCRIBAL BACKLOG BURNDOWN CONTEST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 9 Aug 2001 05:24:34 -0500 (CDT) From: watkins julia k Subject: [scribes]: Yay! The Computer's working! Pennsic project Hi All, If you're going to Pennsic, stop by the Folump booth, you can see new Crossed Quills issues with work by Scribe List members, mahee of acre (his illusionary script with scroll examples) and Merouda Pendray (an award book). I was having computer problems about the printer not wanting to print the color pages and going too slow ... but I've worked that out. :) *yawn* Such a relief, I'm up again in the middle of the night doing more stuff ... mahee has two pages on his illusionary script, and I'm also reproducing four of his scrolls so you can see it in context. I like it. :) 5 page issue. Merouda did a small book which is an Award of the Doe's Grace plus additional text (miniture + 3 pages text for award, 5 pages of prayers appropriate to period) ... and a lot of text to describe how she got there. :) 10 page double issue. Theres also a double issue from Thomas Bronwell, two years ago, with lots of examples. Sorry if this is sounding disjointed. I'm up late getting the editing done (it's going faster now) before taking it to the printer. I wanted to post and let people know, but I needed to be sure it was going to get done. At least I have nifty stuff that inspires to counter the neasties with the software! I've also pulled out a few books from my personal library to sell used (duplicates or duplicating). Or -- if you have an article to propose -- we could work out a trade. Same as last year & always, I trade free numbers of Crossed Quills for examples of court and prize scrolls, with permission to print. I don't have to publish the examples for you to get the free issues. My customers like as many different scroll examples as I can give them to look at. If I publish, you get more free issues or some other book (for articles, individually negotiatied). Or, if you don't want to have published, I'll trade two examples for one issue, up to three numbers. One of my major publishing motivations is to see nifty stuff! There's no limit on how many free issues to trade for, if I have permission to publish. I'll make more sense at Pennsic, having had more sleep. I'm printing the color pages on my home printer, getting those done first since that's the bottleneck. They just finished printing, so I can go to sleep now. :} Barbary =================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list, send email to with a blank Subject: line and unsubscribe scribes in the body of the message.
