I withdraw my comments and shall be silent now, that I may learn. Oh, gosh, no, Bryan, don't feel as if you must be silent and chastened on this topic! There are some among us who merely feel that there is no place for "pseudo-scripts" when doing particularly non-Western style scrolls. Personally, I don't have a problem with this. Anyone who has seen the work of Master Tarik al-Qamar, OL (you Midrealmers would know him!) knows that he can do virtually any style whatsoever and does use these so-called "pseudo-scripts" on his non-Western pieces. And he's a Companion of the Laurel in Calligraphy and Illumination! So feel free to speak your mind, Bryan, and know that those of us here are not always going to agree 100% with each other's opinions, but that's no reason to be silent! As long as we speak in civilised and reasonable tones about our disagreements, I, for one, welcome interesting debates on such things! ~Saradwen Midrealm =================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list, send email to with a blank Subject: line and unsubscribe scribes in the body of the message.
