A couple of people wanted to know how it went so I'm going to respond to the list. My anxiety came from overestimating the sophiscation of the crowd at the Art Museum. I got lots of compliments. My display consisted of a few scrolls, an illuminated poem, my wax tablet, and a couple of portraits. I had a few glass bottles with pigments in them. (The bottles were from a old spice rack. I used wire champagne cages to made sure the lids stayed on.) I had a few small pieces of vellum, a cut quill and some eggs. (The eggs all came stamped with a bright pink web address for the company.) I also had several shells with gouache in them. I worked on a preprint scroll. I didn't get much done but I didn't expect to. The neat thing about this demo was that on Saturday I decided I should have something really period to show. I cut a quill for the first time and using walnut ink did one line of calligraphy on a scrap of vellum. I was delighted at how nice and crisp it came out. I did not expect it to work so well. The eggs were a great opener because several people asked what they were for. I let kids handle one of my scraps of vellum and the quill. All and all the demo went well. We gave out lots of flyers for our Barony and I may get a commission or two out of it. (But I'm not going to hold my breath.) Thanks again for all the great advice, Slaine - ----- Sent using MailStart.com ( http://MailStart.Com/welcome.html ) The FREE way to access your mailbox via any web browser, anywhere! =================================================================== To unsubscribe from this list, send email to with a blank Subject: line and unsubscribe scribes in the body of the message. I think it was through a university in Canada, if that helps narrow down the possibilities. Due to a massive system shudder (our printer driver wasn't carbonized, whatever that means) I have lost both my bookmarks and saved mail. Hopefully, someone can send me this URL again, I visited the site once and want to use it some more.
