Each member of the populace was given a bean, a penny and a plastic bead and was asked to put the bean next to the entry that was most period/done with best period techniques, the penny next to the best overall piece, and the plastic bead next to the most creative work. Pros: - - Everyone had to at least consider period techniques (and hopefully this carried over into the overall category). - - There were more tokens and categories so all the entries received at least some recognition. - - There were more tokens so the populace didn't have to pick one entry and exclude all the rest. Cons: - - You needed a scorecard or something to remember which token went with which category.
