It would take forever to do this research. http://www.interlog.com/~kms/SCA/Royalty/ It is interesting, I suspect it would make a beautiful scroll (hint). Morgoth Coincidentally, I am doing a Carte Principatum (Carte Regnum) for the Heirs of Northshield for their investiture. It will begin with a pictorial genealogy of the Northshield, beginning with the Founders of the Northshield (Kings and Queens of the Midrealm) around the outer border with The Last Midrealm King and Queen/Crown Prince and Princess of the Northshield at the Top, and the tree of Northshield Prince and Princesses descending downward. This is a scroll of vellum, the genealogy followed with all Royal actions and awards, in chronological order. The Shield of the Location of every court as the miniature on the left beginning the text of each court. My model is: Wives of German Noblemen from the Babenberg Family Tree, Sammlungen destes, Klosterneuberg, Austia, 1491. The photo in The Medieval Woman Calendar 1999. Anyone who has done a pictorial genealogy, I would love to hear about the project! Then I put the scroll(s) in that and go to the post office. I put it in a Priority One postal box that has not left its flat state yet. The postal guys tape the ends shut, and it is off. So far, I have heard no complaints at the other end. This may work for you, it may not. Although I have not used this second idea for anything, I have made one but it may work for you. I take a sheet of foam board and cut a hole in the center if it the size of the scroll. I attach a sheet to the back of it. And after the scroll is in the center, tape another sheet onto the front. All ready to head to the post office. Its a bit overkill but sometimes that is what it takes. your servant, mahee From: Karen Williams To: "'scribes@castle.org'" Subject: [scribes]: Mailing scrolls Date: Sat, 29 Apr 2000 16:13:30 -0700 What do you use to mail scrolls in? I would like to find a flat, sturdy, cardboard container readily available in stores or post offices that I can mail reasonably sized scrolls in, without said scroll getting crushed. Any suggestions?
