These bounces are all "mailbox full" type errors. In the past, I've been giving 48 hours for this to clear up (or until Monday afternoon if it's a weekend error). However, the incidence of this got so high recently that I was forced to become a bit more drastic. My original thought was to cut the time to 24 hours, then delete the entry. However, I've come up with a better solution that 1) doesn't drop people completely and 2) reduces the traffic in my mailbox. From now on, any subscription to scribes@castle.org that bounces for full mailboxes will be moved to scribes-digest instead. Any bounce from scribes-digest which lasts more than 48 hours (or until Monday afternoon for weekend problems) will be deleted from the list. I hope this is acceptable to those gathered here. As I said today at the meeting, I'm thrilled at the quality of posts to this list. I really hate removing anyone from it. I hope that this new system will preserve both my sanity and the ability of you scribes to share information and discourse.
