It truly is a joke because, for one it is not common practice here in the Outlands, as far as i know, for scribes to be paid for their work, and secondly I would not feel comfortable being paid for my work. I do scrolls because I find the work relaxing and it provides me an excellent way to continually push myself to higher levels of achievement. Like several of the other arts I do, I do this because I enjoy it. So far i have been able to hold to my convictions, with one exception, where I gave in enough to be reimbursed for the materials for making a diplomat portfolio style scroll case. (A long story. . .) I meant no disrespect of the customs of others. Noemi ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 May 1998 00:29:32 -0500 (CDT) From: Daffy + Chiara Subject: [scribes]: Callig pens Greetings! Does anyone know: Are the Reform fountain pens (from Paper & Ink) any good? I'm curious though. Is there any Kingdom that takes a payment from the scroll recipient? I don't think I've seen anyone mention that. A few people have mentioned IIRC some small reimbursement programs that Kingdoms have to help out scribes with supplies , but I don't think I heard how those programs were funded. aliskye Los Angeles, CA/Lyondemere, Caid aliskye@pacbell.net ------------------------------ End of scribes digest V2 #38 ****************************
