An article about some of their AoA scroll blanks, with examples http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Forum/2963/c_and_i.html AEthelmearc's scribe page. This site has examples and links to other sites with more examples I hope this helps. 'Bye for now. Nope, today is first mail from this list in 2 days for me > > I have a question about heraldic colors: > > Can someone describe a heraldic pallet in terms of W&N Gouache or a Pantone > system? I usually use vermillion red, sap green, golden or spectrum yellow, chrome is also good, ultramarine blue, light purple, black, titanium white. Also recently discovered powdered gold colors from Paper & Ink Books which is very shell gold in color with much more sparkle that gold guache, next to each other the guache looks browny. Also the usually range of ochres, earths, sepia for the rest of the illumination. I have been usuing W&N because I'm familair with it and can usually get it local but a friend is supposed to have a very discounted paint catalogue carrying another brand she says is just as good at quite a lot less $$. Will pass on the info when recieved. I'm wondering what angle do you prefer your work surface to be at, for both calligraphy and illumination work? Reason I ask is that I'm considering purchasing a desk just for scribal work and so far, the adjustable ones are the ones I'm leaning towards. All opinions welcome.
