It was painful, and my ten month old son was *not* helping. Now that I have far more little scraps of gold than I should have, what can I do with them? Is there a way to make gold scraps into shell gold or do I just have a neat little jar of gold to show off at demos? Thanks for your help and suggestions. I remember something having to do with distilled water, grinding the gold with salt and pouring off the excess water several times and adding fresh, then using it with gum arabic?-She did it for a scroll for Pennsic Arts Champions a few years ago and it worked out well. Also--for the class you're teaching next week--try Boston Market restaurants for the little plastic deli containers with lids--they clean up ok and can be used as well--I brought some back to the event for you then lost them. I think the person i was with inadvertantly put them in the garbage Oh well.
