I acquired _Scribes_and_Sources_ in '81 or '82 -- not long after it was published -- from an SCA merchant at an event. I almost didn't buy it. Early period is more my thing. But my lord husband, Father Roger the Redundant Roger of Belden Abbey, insisted that I would eventually be glad to have it. And truth to tell, I am; in An Tir, the kingdom charter (preprinted) scrolls are done to the style of the current crown, and our Crown this reign has specified late Irish and Italian Renaissance as their preferred styles ....
