Catalina,

You can get period pigments from a number of sources, but probably the easiest
one is from Master John the Artificer.

He sells them in sufficiently small quantities that you aren't wasting money in
buying huge quantities of stuff that will take you forever to get through, and
his vials normally sell for about $1-$2 each, so you can get a wide variety of
colors for very little money.

John does sell other calligraphy supplies, including vellum, but the last piece
of vellum I bought from him I wouldn't recommend to a friend. If you contact
Countess Luciana, she has a line on good quality vellum for reasonable prices,
and I also have a source in the Netherlands for good vellum if she can't help
you out (but you need to be prepared to pay for stuff in Euros, which can get
complicated). Gold leaf is also bought more reasonably from Easy Leaf here in
town, although John does carry heavier leaf than you can get at Easy Leaf (but
it pretty much all looks the same on a manuscript).

Aliskye got some vellum from, I think, Book Binder's? It wasn't bad, a bit
stiff, but it did come in lots of thicknesses and such. A bit pricey, though.
