[Caid_scribes] [Fwd: FW: Proposal for November]

I got this message from Baroness Eloise of Calafia, who is hosting
November Coronation. Would anybody be interested in contributing to
such a thing? My concern is that it's fairly short notice to get much
work accomplished (she originally emailed me about it a month ago, but
sent it to my old email address). I'm also somewhat concerned about
possible burnout - is this too much on top of our usual commitments?

Let me know what you think. I'd like to give Eloise a reply before I
leave next week.

Your Worship,
Here is my original missive.
I hope that we get to collaborate on this idea.
I think it would add to the day for the attendees of Coronation, and add
monies to the Scribal coffers.

 > Greetings Mistress Tetchubah,
 > We are aware that the Scribes office of Caid is in need of operating
 > funds.
 > You incur so many expenses and really have a need to add to your coffers.
 > I have been considering how we may help you do a fund raiser for the
 > office.
 > We were thinking of how to present something unique that will encourage
 > people to pull out their wallets and give generously.
 > What I propose is to hold a choice raffle of scribal arts.
 > What I am thinking is if you can talk your scribes into donating pieces
 > for a raffle such as blank scrolls, small pieces of illumination,
 > illuminated letters (such as E's, T's and such) people would love a
chance
 > to win these hand done works of art.
 > (Especially with the holidays looming in December)
 > My thinking is that if this can be pulled together by November
Coronation,
 > which is November 15th, we could make a space for this at the hall.
 > (It would also give people a way to have fun and shop when not in Court)
 >
 > I realize that this is only two months away but I would hope that most of

 > Some funny, some thoughtful, some whimsical but, hopefully, all with a

 > Maybe some Shakespeare quotes, a little Aristotle (isn't he the one who
 > was commenting on how wild and disrespectful the youths were in his
day?),
 > Julius Caesar - Beware the ides of March, etc.
 > The theme for the banquet is going to include foods from a few of the

 > Last year when Calafia was prepping for CP Prize I approached Lady Agatha

 > She produced four very nice single illuminations on 8.5 x 11" heavy paper

 > People loved them and they each had many raffle tickets in their bags.

 > I realize that this suggestion comes to you out of the blue.
 > But it is the only creative fundraiser I have come up with so far.
