I'm sure every person in the room could honestly say that his or her individual
"ooh" and "ahh" was quite sincere and heartfelt. It's only when this
'appreciation' is expressed in a seemingly-rehearsed chorus that the demeaning
effect comes in. But that collective effect can't be denied, at least not for
me.

I do apologize if I've offended you or anyone else by my remarks. That was
certainly not my intent.
