Greetings to Gwenlian Black Lion, the An Tir College of Heralds and the An
Tir College of Scribes, from Bronwen Sable Sable,

I plan to have the following "Call for Bids" made available in the March
Crier.

Please note
I DO NOT have the "image" scanned/reversed and put up on the website yet -
but hope to have it there by next week. (When it goes up, I will send an
update)

Please pass this on to any artisan you know who could successfully create
this new tool.

Also, if there is something missing from the letter - please let me know
before I request it be published :-)

In service

*CALL FOR BIDS*

Greetings An Tir from Bronwen Sable Sable, Kingdom Scribe,

Ever in pursuit of enhancing their art, the Scribes of An Tir have requested
that Black Lion Principal Herald provide signet sized seals for use in
signed and sealed verification of heraldic achievement scrolls. The Crown
of An Tir has heard and commands that it be so.

Obedient to the wisdom and will of Their Most Royal Majesties, Gwenlian
Black Lion has enlisted me in helping to procure a signet matrix. Thus, I
make this call to the Artisans of An Tir seeking bids - that one among them
may be chosen for the great honor of creating new tradition - by the gift of
their craft.

The new Black Lion Signet Matrix must meet these conditions.

*MATERIAL:* Silver, Brass, Hard Bronze or any other metal found to be
adequate for repeated use in impressing and image into 170 degree Fahrenheit
melted wax.

*SIZE:* A 1 inch diameter circle in the form of either a ring or a wax
stamp. The matrix must be chilled on ice to retain the cold for proper
release from the wax and to enable creation of more than one impression at a
time. Therefore, the head of any ring should be at least ¼ inch thick. A
wax stamp is preferable, as the body of the matrix can be made thicker to
hold the cold longer. The body of any wax stamp should be at least 1” thick
and should have either a cast in place metal handle or a removable wooden,
bone, metal or other appropriate handle. If not cast in place, the handle
will be removed each time wax seals are made and must be able to withstand
this process.

*IMAGE:* The seal of Black Lion is registered as: (tinctureless) Two
trumpets in saltire bells to chief, overall a lion’s head caboshed. An image
has been provided on the An Tir College of Scribes website at ??????????

*TIMELINE:* Bids will be accepted until April 1, 2010 at which time they
will be reviewed. Once the bid is awarded, the honored Artisan should be
prepared to meet the Delivery timeframe outlined in the bid.

All bids should include 1)Cost, 2)Delivery timeline, 3)Detailed description
and/or drawings of the intended product, 4)The seal image to be created - if
the one provided will not be used, and 4)Images of past similar work with
customer reference information.

If you have questions, please contact me at Antir.sablesable at gmail.com or
Sable-Sable at antir.sca.org. Bids may be sent electronically to the above
address or sent regular mail to Bronwen Sable Sable – Matrix Bid; c/o Terri
A. Morrison; 701 Basin Street NW; Ephrata, WA 98823-1634 USA.

May our service be ever joyful and an enrichment to An Tir,

Bronwen Sable Sable
