Greetings Scribes,

This year at 12th Night there will be a Kingdom Scroll contest AND a Painted
Charter contest for charters for Owain and Wrenn's upcoming Reign.

Categories for the Painted Charter Contest are "KING'S FAVORITE" and
"QUEEN'S FAVORITE" 

Eligible Charters are those completed and turned in Saturday of Twelfth
Night. Scribes wishing to enter the contest must lightly put on the back of
the charter in PENCIL their name, branch, and contact info. There is a room
in the convention center that will be set aside for scribal activities where
painting can occur. Charters painted prior to 12th Night are also eligible.

 

Categories for the An Tir 12th Night Scroll contest:

NOVICE SCRIBE (one of the scribe's first five original SCA scrolls - scroll
submitted must be for Kingdom level award)

BEST MEDIEVAL CALLIGRAPHY (must provide a readable copy of the medieval
manuscript/document exemplar used).

BEST USE OF HERALDRY (includes the achievement with documented armory and
the use of documented badges, etc. as appropriate)

BEST EARLY ILLUMINATION STYLE scroll (styles prior to 1200)

BEST LATER ILLUMINATION STYLE scroll (styles after 1200) 
(scrolls 1150--1225 should put a date on their scroll to help with
judging:-)

POPULACE CHOICE Populace choice is decided by anyone who wishes to cast a
ballot.

CONTESTANTS' CHOICE Scribes who have entered get to pick the one they like
best

JUDGE'S & STAFF'S FAVORITE 



Scrolls eligible for the contest must be for previously bestowed An Tir
Kingdom level awards (those to be awarded at 12th Night are not eligible to
avoid court confusion) or armigerous awards from her Principalities
completed within the last two years which have not previously been entered
into a Kingdom level contest. If a small number of scrolls are entered
sponsor reserves the right to remove some categories from the contest. 

Being entries to scribal room in Convention Center where they will be
displayed.
