This is not only a loss for the Summits but the whole of the scribal
community in An Tir. Sharon's gentle teaching and beautiful artwork will be
sorely, sorely missed by this beginner.

With tears,
HL Elizabeth Turner de Carlisle

>From Mistress Keterlin,
Greetings and Sad tidings unto the Summits:

A pillar has fallen.

Sharon the Merchants Wife passed suddenly this morning due to complications
from the flu. The Principality and Kingdom are so much the poorer for her
loss.

I cannot begin to list all the areas of our medieval lives that Sharon
touched. She had been in the SCA for many, many years, supporting her local
branches of Caverns Gate and Myrtleholt from their earliest days, and
sharing her devotion with the Principality as Scribe. How many times did she
sit gate? How many events did She and Stephan autocrat so others could relax
and enjoy? How many feasts did we partake of that she contributed to? How
many thousand, were the beautiful hand painted charters that she provided to
Princes and Kings, Princesses and Queens so they could honor those who have
given to the realm? How keenly will we now know what we have lost?

I understand that a, Celebration of Sharon's Life will be added to
Myrtleholt's Hogmany, on January 2, in Kirby Oregon. Please see details at
http://www.antir.sca.org/Upcoming/?Event_ID=2559 Further information and
contact numbers will be shared as it becomes available. Sharon is survived
by her family, please grant them the privacy they need at this time.

In humble Service,
Cat
