I've been trying!
Non-charter work is always welcome at the two monthly Madrone scribe nights (that's first tuesdays at Sean's in Greenwood, and third thursdays at Baronial Socials- new location TBA).
I've had my hands full trying to keep up with charter needs, so haven't gotten to focus much on originals, but would be delighted to have people bring original work, and/or answer questions for anyone who wants to give it a try. There is a backlog of Red Branch awards which need originals done, and sometimes other small projects come up. Bring your period materials, and share your experience! If notified in advance, I can bring books and research materials, gilding supplies, or other instructional stuff.

I converted my college award to an original scroll-- it's given once a
year, so it seemed silly to have someone paint a charter. I try to
share the work, so with other stuff I more or less average to one
original a year, which is fun but not enough for steady improvement. I
was working on a baronial scroll (

ate my brain, as they tend to do. I'm really happy that Annisa has been
running "downtown Madrone" scribal sessions.
Ursula Georges.
