Greetings fellow Scribes from Keterlin,
your Scribal Library Deputy:
I would like to enlist your assistance in a couple of projects that are being put together.
First: We would like to put together a binder (or three) for Heraldic education of achievements. Many of you may remember from the Domesday project the full achievements we did for our respective local branches. And, many of you have applied a variety of achievements in the various award scrolls that you produce. We would like to collect many of these and print them out for the Heraldic education binders. Since we know one of the best ways to teach about achievements is to show them.
Second: As scribal Librarian, I have had little else to do in the years past but mind a small collection of books, about 1/2 a shoebox of old slides and a woefully small collection of photos. But! I have long held the dream of working to create an archive of the fantastic scribal works done in this kingdom. I'm sure you have all seen some of the archives of other kingdoms and can understand what a fantastic resource a scribal archive can be. I would like to make that a reality for our Kingdom.
Third: The same could very much be said about the many charters designed and painted in our fair realm.
These three issues are all closely related. Here is how you can help.
For all three projects.
I need y'all to send me your scans, (*please note. I have a limitation of 10 megs for electronic submissions) photos, good quality prints, disc.., of your works, clearly labeled with your name and such identification information as; did you do the calligraphy or illumination or both for said piece, additional information such as dates, materials used, and even documentation or inspirational source type information is greatly appreciated as well.
If you know former scribes that no longer play or are not on this e-list, talk to them and encourage their participation. Feel free to forward my contact information.
Now of course there is a small hitch for our modern litigious society. I also need you to drop me a note with your SCA name and mundane (if you don't mind) granting The Kingdom of AnTir use of such materials for archival and educational purposes. Basic and to the point. You can send it electronically too. I don't need an official signature, just a demonstration of your intent. Poof! My office now has a new file box to maintain as well.
When in doubt as to suitable material, just drop me a note and let's talk. Hopefully my mailing address will be updated in the Crier (they do have the right one under the peerage secretaries) and on the website someday soon. In the mean time, I will just have to splash it across the skies and post it here.
