Actually, I thought you were talking about using the populace banner which
is "checky or and argent a dexter tierce sable" as said Elizabeth in one of
the previous notes.

I would absolutely not put the the lion's head on the shield and then let
people paint the field any color they want
(that could potentially conflict with someone's registered heraldry)

I don't think this is too much fuss
It's very important stuff - and all the questions need to be answered

I'm actually quite glad that it came up  :-)

About your other question on it being too much black - I'd probably have to
say yes - its too much black
(Have you ever painted a Jambe Charter - most of the designs that I've seen
just have the outline of the lions arm and claws
I don't think that I've ever seen one that was already filled in for me with
the black color.)

Black Lion said that she would get back to us today sometime - if you can
