Greetings fair Bronwen,
I am very sorry to hear of all of the difficulties you have
encountered in getting the web page up. I do very much look forward
to seeing it and reading through it.
I am in agreement that a web page is needed and is the proper holding
place for guidelines, policies, contact information, and such
materials. It will be good to have this information available.
Also, I am a firm believer in having a mailing list for the
disemination of relevant information such as changes to information
such as the seal sizing. This would be reflected in the policies
page, but also everyone would receive the notification.
However, I do believe that a wiki page would augment the scribal page
and email list in areas that perhaps would enhanced by the addition of
commentary or the ability of many people to edit the materials. You
would not want your policies page to be edited and changed by anyone
who came along. But, you might want people to be able to edit the
recipe for making ink, adding in such comments as to use an iron pot
instead of an aluminin pot, or that the boiling times vary depending
on humidity and elevation, for example. Such comments are things that
we have seen in the scribal list come across, but I do not believe are
appropriate for a web page. They fit much better in the wiki format.
I would like to encourage you to consider delegating the creation of
the wiki page to those scribes who are interested. In areas where the
content is already addressed by the An Tir scribal web page links
could be made to these materials to ensure the proper information is
communicated.
I humbly remain your servant,
Lady Tevenete de Charolais
