Absolutely!
I totally agree (I am from a very small shire and know of what you are
speaking)
I just haven't figured out how to easily pursue that community information
yet :-)
But we will eventually get there - together

Do you live in a Barony? Barony of Wastekeep
Does your Barony have a Baronial Scribe? Position currently open
Are you a Baronial Scribe? yes
Does your Barony give awards? yes
Are these awards documented with an original scroll or a charter?
The last Baroness had some charters made, so that is new, and rest are
originals. So, we do both
Does your Barony have a Baronial Seal Matrix and make seals from it for
documentation? yes
What do you think a Baronial Scribe does/should do (or what do you do in
your capacity as Baronial Scribe)?
Our Herald is currently taking applications for Baronial Scribe. This person
will have more of an administrative position. They will keep track of
supplies and of getting people to do scrolls. We have some who will only try
to paint charters and some who will design but not paint. Some are
particular about who they will do a scroll for when asked. I think there are
2 of us who can do calligraphy. I am one and I still have to use a computer
printed one underneath to follow. I wish I could find more accurate to
period fonts, but I get as close as I can. Currently, I do not want to deal
with finding the people and keep on them to get scrolls accomplished on
time. I am happy to paint and design at this time.
If your Barony does not have a Baronial Scribe - but - your Barony does give
documented awards (scrolls) - who makes the documentation? n/a
Do you think that every Barony should have a Baronial Scribe?
I think that would be best, but not everyone is interested in scribal arts.
If there were a database of people who are good at wording for them to
contact. Also, perhaps a database of very generic charter designs that
inexperienced people or brand new groups, could download with a set of
instructions for basic painting. Leave a circle or something blank so they
can put in the award emblem? Just a thought?
