No, I live just north of the Barony of Adiantum.

Yes, Adiantum has a Baronial Scribe.

Yes, I am the Baronial Scribe in Adiantum. I have been in that position
about, um, four months maximum and haven't gotten to do a whole lot yet. I
am hosting my first scribal social this month to get people interested in
painting charters for Kingdom, Principality (we are in the Summits) and the
Barony.

Yes, we have a whole slate of awards that are given in Adiantum. They're
even registered :)

We have blank templates for each scroll given out that are individually and
uniquely painted for each recipient.

Well, we have a seal thingy, but the previous scribe hasn't shown me how to
make seals from it yet. It doesn't look -too- hard (I hope!).

I think a Baronial Scribe is much like a Baronial Herald - they are not only
responsible for performing the duties assigned to them (in the scribe's
case, that is making sure that all awards are accompanied by a pretty shiny)
but also to teach and encourage others to participate in their chosen area
of happy fun joy :) I think it falls to the Baronial Scribe to facilitate
opportunities for others to learn, for example, if people in the Barony want
to learn how to do white work, it would be the scribe's job to find someone
to come and teach it if they couldn't do it themselves. Right now, as I
said, I am not doing a whole lot in my capacity as Baronial Scribe -
Adiantum's big event for the scribe is Egil's, and we'll start doing a
loooot of painting once the tourney season is over to make sure we have
enough things painted for our Excellencies to give away.

This doesn't apply to me :)

Yes, I really do. I think it is important for a Barony to have a scribe who
works with the herald especially, because both parties are entrusted with
the same kind of secrets. Baronies don't always have lots of retinue behind
the thrones, so it is important that the scribe be there to help facilitate
the awarding of scrolls during court so that the herald doesn't have to.
There were amazing things that happened in Adiantum with the previous scribe
and the previous Golden Bear Pursuivant when the two of them really started
clicking. And the former scribe is the new Golden Bear, so my job is
infinitely easier because she is awesome (and hasn't gone far!).
Can you tell my primary 'point of squee' in the SCA is heraldry? :)
